Telling Our Story ~ Members of the Waltham Forest, Antigua & Barbuda and Dominica Twinning Association at the William Morris Gallery on Saturday 1st October 2022
This video was recorded at the William Morris Gallery on Saturday 1st October 2022 in the presence of the Mayor of Waltham Forest, Cllr Karen Bellamy. It consisted of readings of poetry and short stories and musical performances from members of the Creative Writing Project which the Association is running, funded by Waltham Forest and the Make It Happen grant programme, with the cooperation of the Trustees of the William Morris Gallery.
The objectives of the Twinning Association are to promote friendship, information exchange and mutual understanding of cultural, recreational and commercial activities of the linked areas. And this event was a great big celebration of all these in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere where everyone was encouraged to showcase their work and talents and have a great time. Light refreshments were provided and visitors could not have been made more welcome.
This was also the first event of this year's Black History Month. It will be long remembered with affection by everyone who attended.
(It's likely that an additional informal introduction to the item will be added.)
