Wayne asks two former prisoners what it's really like 'inside'

Billy and Paris tell Wayne their story

For most of us our idea of prison life comes from television, cinema and reading, and our mental picture ranges from Ronnie Barker's portrayal of Fletcher in Porridge to the nightmare world inhabited by Brad Davis as Billy Hayes in Midnight Express. The truth must surely lie somewhere in between. Here Wayne Walton talks to two individuals who have spent many years of their lives in British prisons and talk freely about their experiences. Their assessment of the value of incarceration is, perhaps predictably, pretty negative although not entirely so.
