Waltham Forest Trades Council called a public meeting at the William Morris Centre on 30th January 2025 in the light of the recent disclosure that the survey of the building on which rests the major part of their attempt to justify its closure and demolition was NOT independent but conducted by a firm, as yet un-named, in which the Council has a 25% holding. Members of the Trades Council and others involved were understandably outraged at this evidence of corruption and lying in the conduct of Council business. As a result of the disclosure new dates have been set for what we all know will be the rubber-stamping of the Council's long pre-decided plans.

However, legal interventions as well as further shaming of these "Kangaroo Court" style tactics may still be possible.
