Mark Steel, as many of you will know, has created his own niche in the stand-up comedy world. Visiting cities, towns and villages across Britain he unveils their pretentions, screw-ups and corruption to the folks that live in them, or that know them well, in the format of a witty and sarcastic lampoon local live performance. This is recorded by Radio 4 to become an episode in the series of comic monologues: "Mark Steel Is In Town". At time of writing the series has amassed 74 episodes.
His first visit, which was in 2021, was also reviewed and repeated by Forest Radio
You can get to know Mark and his work, personality and political convictions a lot better by watching this interview by Konstantin Kisin and Francis Foster on the the Triggerpod podcast station
