2016 Stop the Land Sale!

Waltham Forest Save Our NHS mounted a successful postcard campaign against the sale of land on the Whipps Cross site before the proposals for the new hospital had been prepared. Leaflet
     The campaign successfully prevented proposals (in Transforming Services Together 2016) to stop overnight emergency surgery at Whipps Cross.
     This was prepared by the Centre for Health and Public Interest.

First Public Meeting about Whipps Cross Re-development in Leytonstone 27 Feb 2019

In the absence of any public information meetings organised by Barts NHS Trust…Waltham Forest Save Our NHS took the initiative to call and publicise a meeting for local people at the Epicentre in Leytonstone.
     Invited speakers - John Cryer MP, representatives from Barts Trust, and local NHS workers and campaigners addressed a packed meeting with informative discussion following.

Presentation of Petition about the new Whipps Cross to Dept of Health 14 Feb 2020

From Spring 2019 to early 2020 , WFSONHS published leaflets and ran a series of street stalls to inform the public about the proposals for the new hospital and to campaign for a hospital fit to meet the current and future needs of the local population . More than 5,700 people signed the petition.

A very well attended meeting at which the call for a community-wide campaign was given, and Action 4 Whipps campaign was formed by the many people who responded to that call.

Statement to Waltham Forest Health and Well Being Board 22 Sept 2020

Norma Dudley from WFSONHS made a speech expressing specific concerns about the evidence used by Barts Health that future community services would be sufficiently increased and enhanced to justify reduction of hospital beds and capacity in the new Whipps Cross.
